Our Mission
Preserving Sacred Spaces. Empowering Communities.
Too many historic churches and overlooked assets face an impossible choice: struggle with aging buildings and declining budgets, or sell to the highest bidder. Rockacre Capital offers a third path. We partner with churches, non-profits and faith-based institutions to unlock the value of underutilized real estate - while preserving worship, community programs, and cultural heritage. Our model ensures that churches and overlooked assets remain community anchors, not luxury condos.
How It Works
Our Partnership Model
Step 1: We Listen
↓
We meet with church leadership to understand your mission, financial challenges, and vision for your building's future.
Step 2: We Design Solutions
↓
Together, we identify underutilized spaces and design mixed-use plans that generate revenue while preserving worship and community programs.
Step 3: We Provide Capital
↓
Rockacre Capital provides the financing to renovate and activate your building - no debt on the church's or owner’s balance sheet.
Step 4: We Share Benefits
↓
Revenue flows back to fund your mission: youth programs, food pantries, community services. Your real estate remains a thriving community anchor.
What We Preserve
Our Commitments
✓ Worship Space Preserved Your congregation continues to worship in the sanctuary. We activate underutilized spaces—not your sacred worship area.
✓ Community Programs Protected After-school programs, food pantries, health clinics - these stay. In fact, revenue from activated spaces helps fund these programs.
✓ Cultural Heritage Honored We restore and preserve historic architecture, stained glass, and cultural artifacts. Your building remains a landmark, not a teardown.
✓ No Debt on Your Balance Sheet Rockacre provides capital as equity, not a loan. Your church has no new debt burden.
✓ Long-Term Partnership We're not flippers. We partner for 7-10 years, ensuring your church thrives long after we're involved.
FAQs
Common Questions for Churches
Q: Will we lose control of our building?
A: No. The church retains control of worship space and community programs. Rockacre manages activated commercial spaces (like co-working or housing), but you remain the spiritual and community leader.
Q: What if our congregation doesn't want changes?
A: We only move forward with congregational approval. This is a partnership, not an acquisition. If your community isn't ready, we respect that.
Q: How long does the process take?
A: From first conversation to activation: typically 18-24 months (due diligence, design, construction, tenant placement).
Q: What happens if Rockacre wants to exit?
A: We give the church first right of refusal. If you want to buy us out, you can. If not, we sell to a mission-aligned buyer (community land trust, nonprofit, another church).
